The History

* The Tours were started by Rick in 1991 with a trip to Gullane. He continued to organise the tours for increasing numbers, until 1997, when pressure of work prevented him from attending.

* Bob took over the organisation for two years. Then in 2000, he handed on to Robin, who has the role at present.

* Numbers have continued to expand and now 16 is normal.

* Not all the WinSat members are able to attend these tours and so a number of guests were added.
(See Membership Pages).

* Many of these guests are now regular tourists.

Three Main Prizes

are competed for during these trips.

* The Paschal Cup is the main prize and is a net Medal Competition based on a Variable Handicapping System. Donated by Tony and named after the Easter Season in which it is played - (As in Paschal Sacrifice).

* The Club Player Trophy is based on net medal scores always using Club Handicap. This was provided by Robin.

* The Tour Medal is awarded for the net round of the Tour, as compared to the course Standard Scratch Score, using Club Handicaps. This was again donated by Tony.

* Various other competitions are held, using the Variable Handicapping System, and so everyone both takes and wins a prize.
